This is a traditional wedding anniversary whose celebration goes right back to the 15th century.

Considered one of the major wedding anniversary, the flower associated with the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary is an Iris, while the gemstone is sterling silver. You may notice this is not a gemstone, true but it does match the material traditionally associated with the "Silver Anniversary".
